Book Ministry
The Book Ministry of Immanuel began with the efforts of Andrew Ferdinand. Andrew took his walk to Emmaus some years ago and was looking for ways to pass on the faith to others. His boss gave him a book to read that changed his life and he came to see that just giving a book away to someone else could have a lasting change in someone's life. Andrew began to do the same, and in short order began to supply books to the church to initiate the Book Ministry at Immanuel.
Others have found this to be a great way to affect the lives of others without being pushy or presumtuous. They have found they can still share the words of grace and not be an expert on discipleship. The Book Ministry is really about giving books away so that people will read them and have their lives impacted with its message.
The outreach Committee is looking at expanding the Book Ministry program by placing books at the Baby Pantry, the Food Pantry, Tendercare, and buying books that the Youth could use in their ministry to their peers. This will require more involvement from more people and the congregation. If you would like to help, send a check to the church and allow the ministry to purchase the books they wish, or visit the link next to this page. You can send your check to: Immanuel Lutheran Church; P.O. Box 206; Suttons Bay, MI 49682; and mark "Book Ministry" in the memo section of your check.
